But she knows what Boys Like! Peaches before Peaches I suppose.
Yeah, they had a New York feel…
I went on an Akron rabbit hole. I tried getting into Tin Huey, but I never went too crazy for them. It’s weird, because you really had to do some digging to get this kind of info back in the day. Akron is interesting, but it all centers around Devo. Cleveland is the more interesting scene of that era from the perspective of a listener- there’s more than one band that’s worth listening to.
What’s round on the ends and High in the middle?
White dopes on punk!
I cant gett me no…
It’s a beautiful world for you, not for me
I actually saw Peaches before she was Peaches… followed by Peaches when she first came out AS Peaches… There was almost no one there. I’m pretty sure it was the middle of a snowstorm…
She reminds me of a girl I went to college with.
Watch her live videos. Softcore prawns
I’ve seen her live multiple times, especially early on. I remember one particular show, it was really weird. She and three friends – Fiest and then a couple of dudes – were all dressed in their underwear, and they were doing weird dances and calisthenics (the guys would do pushups while the women sat on them, and then they’d jog on the spot weirdly). So, yeah, it was like four geeky kids having a softcore retro slumber party with rapping. Even some of the punk artists watching were like, “What in the hell is going on?” lol
Oh, yeah, and every once in a while, one of the dudes would yell out, “Hey, Peaches, you’re wearin’ too much clothes!” And then she’d insist that she was a stripper and not a musician. But it was weird, 'cause they were all acting like… kids. That’s the best way to describe it… It was like there was a bizarre innocence to it, almost as if a bunch of 12-year-old geeky kids got together to have an orgy but had NO IDEA how…
