Respect. Of course… I’m partial to Greek psych, myself…
They’re called Nostradamus (heh heh). And they have the WILDEST bio, too! There had been a sudden fascist takeover of the government. It was the start of the 70s, and the fascists, in their infinite chauvinism, thought that psychedelic rock was hippy-dippy flower child “gay” music that was bad for young people, so they targeted the band every which way they could. It started with total media bans, as well as forbidding students to go see them on pain of expulsion from school, moved on to revoking of passports and removing them from the Eurovision song contest (they were the only real threat to ABBA that year, so we missed out on a great showdown), finally culminating with a frame-job that sent a member to prison.
This is rad, the only greek psych I know is Aphrodite’s Child.
Have you seen this pre-Vangelis iteration of what would become Aphrodite’s Child? You can easily recognize bass player Demis Roussos. I think the other members are there as well… It’s a genuinely nice song until the vocals go a little over the top. Not sure what they were going for in the overly verbose part.
The vocals are great. This is excellent Greek yeye!
She is weird looking though.
It was a style then, but there were other styles as well, of course.
