The Kittie track was a blast from the past. I photographed one of the earliest shows they were on, and then, many years later, I found myself married with children with guitarist Fallon Bowman… BUT ONLY for an audition for a fast food commercial ;
I don’t think any of us got the part.

So do I! I got one of my Donnas CDs signed by all four original members! The singer and the drummer were drinking and turned into Beavis and Butthead right before my eyes. Donna A, at first, mentioned that she didn’t have a pen, and she made a motion with her hand to supposedly signify “pen,” but instead of making a scrawling motion, she just moved her hand up and down. And then, when she suddenly realized what she was doing, she goes to Torry, "(Wide eyed) Oh, my gosh, I’m like (making jack-off motions), and then they both started screaming with laughter and snickering like goofballs.

She wasn’t doing it to a beer bottle, though. Just in the air. Apparently, she thought that the way to use a pen was by moving a clenched fist up and down… Don’t ask me!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??? KIM???
I DIDN’T KNOW SHE PASSED!!! When? How?!!
I actually met her. I got a Vancouver band an opening slot with the Muffs. She was SO cool! So real. I saw her yank a heckler onstage, yank his pants down and spank him in front of everybody (and boy, did he deserve it. What a jerk).
I can’t believe this Seriously?? How the hell did I not know this??
Oh, man, I LOVE them too
Edit - In 2019??? Did it happen and I blocked it out of my mind (it’s something I’d want to)?? Or did I never hear? What the hell… That SUCKS
Sheesh. Man, I’m out of the loop. I was a music writer, but now I don’t know what’s going, who’s living, who’s dying…
That’s real sad, LOTRHB
That’s awesome that you got to meet her. I saw them live several times when I was living in Boston. A great live band, as you know.

Absolutely! They sounded great and were lots of fun. And they just wrote such fun accessible songs. And boy, could she deal with the worst kind of heckler!
